Why Support the Komen Richmond Affiliate?
Breast Cancer remains the most common form of cancer among women living in the United States. It is only through the generous support of our donors that we are able to make strides in the fight against breast cancer. Your generosity will help us to fulfill our promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures.
We are committed to our community with 75% of the net revenue raised by the Richmond Affiliate distributed right back into the community of Central Virginia through our Grant program. The remaining 25% directly supports Komen’s National Research Grant Program.
Since 1998, the Komen Richmond Affiliate has raised over $3.3 million for both local programs and Komen’s National Research Grant Program. We are currently funding 15 innovative projects totaling $556,910. Additionally, in 2008 we contributed $212,883 to fund breast cancer research through Komen’s National Research Grant Program.
